Menopause and Dry Eyes: Understanding the Causes and Seeking Relief

Menopause typically occurs between the ages of 45 and 55 and marks the end of a woman's reproductive years. During this time, the body undergoes significant hormonal changes, primarily decreased estrogen levels. While this hormonal shift is a normal part of aging, it can lead to various uncomfortable symptoms, including dry eyes.

Why Does Menopause Lead to Dry Eyes?

smiling woman with drink

Estrogen plays a vital role in maintaining the health of your eye's tear film, which is crucial for keeping your eyes moist and comfortable. As estrogen levels decline, the tear film may become less stable, leading to symptoms of dry eye syndrome.

Dry eyes can be more than just an inconvenience. They can significantly impact your daily life, making it difficult to focus on work, enjoy your favorite activities, or socialize.

Mr. Nigel Truong, the Manager, is incredibly professional, very polite, respectful and extremely hel... pful. He is why, for many more reasons than one, my husband and I have purchased eyeglasses at Eyetique.. Ryan and everyone on his staff are also very polite and helpful. Dr. Allysa Taddie, who has an office there, is an exceptional Optometrist who is very knowledgable and a lovely person! I am so glad that I was introduced to her by Nigel Truong! I wish all of them continuing success!

I recently went in there and sat down with Nigel Truong the practice manager. I sat down with him to... get two pairs of my Ray Bans repaired for damaged lenses and Nigel gave me so much information, broke down the process and was so professional and kind. Businesses need more people like him, I will be driving out of my way to always give him the business. Thank you Nigel for the outstanding customer service, I really appreciated the experience overall.

I had been looking online and at other stores for weeks and couldn't find frames I liked. Dustin was... so patient and friendly, and he helped find a pair I really loved. I also ordered contacts, and when it looked like they wouldn't come in before my vacation. He called the supplier and had samples sent to the store so I'd have contacts in time. Dustin called me a couple of times over the course of the week to keep me updated on whether the samples would arrive it time. Luckily they did! Great customer service by Dustin!!
